How to stop Windows 10 from Auto Updating

Windows 10 has a feature of automatic updates. Generally, there is a rule to operate Microsoft to have an updated system. People are terrible at updating their operating systems. That’s probably the main reason Microsoft introduced Windows 10 with automatic updating system. This feature is pretty convenient but many users want their updates on specific Microsoft’s schedule.

If you are running a professional version of Windows 10, you can disable the automatic updates.

Method1

Install Updates Manually

The laborious solution to deal with Windows 10 is to install updates at a time when it is more convenient to you.

STEP2

Schedule Restart times

It may surprise the Windows 10 users to handle the updates on their own. Suddenly people get the Microsoft patch alerts for updates which is quiet irritating for some users. To deal with this issue users can schedule their own times for updates.

Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Advanced Options and users can turning Set Metered Connection on.

Users can download updates on metered internet connections. They do it manually by following simple steps.  Settings > Windows Updates > Download

Method4

Stop Auto Updates of Windows 10 by Disabling Drivers

Microsoft offers solutions to disable windows automatically. Users can stop it through device drivers. To do this, right click the Start button and click the Control Panel.

Open the Hardware Tab, and click Device Installation Settings.

These were the four methods which I found till now. Stopping the Auto updates is not so easy as it used to be in Windows7 or earlier versions.

Hope it is useful for you. Your comments/suggestions and questions are welcomed as always.
