Flash drives are used for storage and moving data from one PC to another. Sometime when we connect flash drive into PC, it doesn’t appear or prompt errors. It can be happen due to various issues but usually it is because of two reasons i.e. Physical Errors (Damaged USB drive port or read/write head, Circuit broken e.g) and Logical Errors (Malware, Virus, Bad Sectors e.g). Due to these reasons, Operating System is unable to fetch data from flash drive. These various issues may turn USB drive data inaccessible. In this article, I will show you how to repair a USB flash drive which has logical errors.
STEP1
Insert Flash Drive into PC
Insert flash drive into PC’s USB port (while Windows is running):

Flash Drive Visibility in Windows
Open windows explorer, you will see the flash drive as shown in this picture “FLASH DRIVE” of “14.4 GB”. Otherwise, if it is not shown here then it means there are physical errors. Desktop will show a yellow balloon with an error if there are Physical Errors.

Go to Properties of Flash Drive
Right-click on flash drive and click on properties:

Go to Tools
Properties popup will appear on screen which contains its information (Name,, Volume, Free Space, ). Click on Tools tab:

Check now
Click on Tools. We will see three different section. Error-Check, Defragmentation and Backup. Click on Check now:

Start Check Disk
Click on Start:

Check Disk Process in Progress
System will run its internal checks including many processes:

Complete and Close
System will show confirmation prompt after the process is complete. It will show results of Error Checking & Corrections as well. We can refer to detailed log as well. Click on Close to complete and finish the process.
Our USB Flash Drive is free of Logical Errors now. You can restart your PC & then plug this USB in. It will work fine as before.
