How to Install Windows 7 on PC

In this tutorial we will learn that How to Install Windows 7 on a PC. Before starting any OS installation, we need to prepare for installation process. So let’s take a look what are the requirements for Windows 7 installation. It will help us to make Windows 7 installation more efficient and we will be safe from the problems which may arise during installation process.

STEP1

 

Enter System Setup

Turn OFF computer if it is ON, then turn ON and press System Setup key to enter the system setup. It may vary on different computers depending System Bios (ESC, F2, F10, Delete e.g).

 

 

STEP2

 

Go to Boot Setting

System setup page will appear on screen, now press right arrow key on keyboard and go to Boot Settings to make CR-ROM Drive at first boot priority.

 

 

STEP3

 

Make Boot First

Follow the keyboard instructions mention on bottom of below picture and make CD-ROM Drive at boot first. Move tab to Exit.

 

 

STEP4

 

Save and Exit

In Exit tab, select Exit Saving Changes to save and exit from system Setup. A popup will show on screen asking us to to exit from setup? Select Yes and press Enter.

 

STEP5

 

Load Windows Files

To Install Windows 7 fresh copy, insert bootable disk into CD-ROM Drive and boot system from it. System will start loading Windows 7 files from bootable disk.

 

 

STEP6

 

Start Windows Installation

After loading Windows 7 files, setup is ready to install Windows 7 on system. Click on “Install now” to start Installation setup.

 

 

 

STEP7

 

Select Operating System

In the next step, select an Operating System version & Architecture (it depends on your needs, License Type you bought & Computer type) and click Next to continue to start Windows 7 Installation:

 

 

STEP8

 

Select New Installation

Remember to always choose Custom (advanced) for new installation of windows 7. It will make a new installation of windows 7 on hard drive.

 

 

STEP9

 

Select Partition

We can choose any partition for installation of windows 7 folder and it contain on volume and partitions of hard drive. Select partition and click Next for next page.

 

 

STEP10

 

Installing Windows

Installing Windows 7 file and folders will start. This process will restart our PC several times and it will take about 20 to 40 minutes to be completed depending upon our Processor speed, RAM, Hard Disk type & so on. For example, if our Hard Disk is SSD type then it will be much quicker as compared to normal HDD. 

*Note
I have recently installed mSATA SSD in my HP zBook Laptop & I am experiencing a much quicker installations of Windows OS on VM’s as compare to previously. I would recommend that everyone must try SSD even though it much much expensive yet.

 

 

 

STEP11

 

Complete Installation

Installation of Windows 7 will be completed after some time & after some auto restarts. It will restart again:

Setup is Preparing for First Use

After restart, PC will show a process of “Preparing for First Use” then it will enter into Windows Profile to setup.

 

STEP13

 

Windows Profile

Setup PC Name, Time Zone, Serial Number (If we have) in Windows Profile. Give detail as every pages required and click Next. 

 

 

STEP14

Windows 7 First Look

Finally, Windows 7 Installation process has been completed successfully, Windows 7 will show its first look on main screen. Use it as per your requirement:
